2021 LETR year-end settlement (2) Content we liked
2024-07-04

Since the second half of 2021, natural language processing experts who research and develop LETR technology and marketers who create content have come together to build up various technical contents.

Looking back on the past year, we've rounded up some of our most memorable contents. We've collected separately good content that received relatively little attention and was disappointing. '2021 LETR Year-end Settlement (1) Most Loved Content'Similarly, the LETR team, who wrote and organized the article themselves, will once again introduce it with sentences selected from the main text of the content.

‍

AT EVERY WORD, LETR BRAND STORY

‍

‍

“So LETR began with our imagination to create a world where anyone can communicate with anyone without language barriers.”

‍

“It is said that when people meet people, the world meets the world. LETR will enable more wonderful things to happen when different worlds meet. '

'AT EVERY WORD'

“LETR wants us to share every moment of human communication in reading and writing.”

Artificial intelligence ethics: 03. Human-centered AI and LETR ethical principles

‍

‍

'LETR exists to help people communicate anytime, anywhere. We never forget our reason for existence, and we are unwavering in our quest for a better world for all. So everything we design starts with people, and people are at the center of everything. '

Planting the seeds of tomorrow's AI developers, SOL Project Intern Interview 1, 2, 3

‍

‍

“It was my first project together, so I was very excited, and it was very helpful to have the experience of completing a project based on a paper. In particular, when I started working as a practitioner later, I was able to feel confident that I would be able to get through well based on this experience. '

“We uploaded our pre-trained model and hate speech classification model to Hugging Face (Hugging Face) and distributed it as an open source so that interested people can use it. We've also created a demo site where users can test the detection of profanity and hate speech by entering their own sentences. '

“There are things we miss when working on a project, but thanks to working with the team members, I was able to feel what it means to fill each other's gaps. I was able to share what I know, learn what I don't know, and have a valuable experience of creating good results together. '

“We made relationships that kept in touch even after the project was completed. There were good people left who cheered for each other by sharing what they are preparing now and how things are going. '

“This time, I learned that there are more diverse language analysis datasets and open libraries than I thought. If it's not accompanied by clear topic setting and project management, the possibility of unnecessary trial and error is bound to increase. In that regard, the SOL project is a great opportunity to receive professional mentoring and infrastructure, so I hope everyone can make good use of it to create meaningful results. '

ETHICS, a dataset that measures the ethics of artificial intelligence

‍

‍

“AI ethics has now become such a decisive factor that determines the existence and success of related research and business. Due to its great influence on society, it has become a social responsibility that all stakeholders, including researchers and companies, must bear. '

'ETHICS (Everyday Moral Intuition, Temperament, Happiness, Impartiality, and Constraints, all in contextualized scenarios) is a dataset that can measure the ethics of AI models designed to solve this challenge. Since there are various standards and approaches to ethics, it is said that ETHICS was created based on universal human ethics and values. '

‍

‍

[AI by our side] Can artificial intelligence communicate with humans?

‍

‍

“It is said that the fourth industrial revolution brought about a hyperconnected society where people can connect anytime, anywhere. However, modern people living in a hyperconnected society are complaining of loneliness. With just a smartphone, you can connect to the world 24 hours a day, but it is an age where it has become more difficult to share the natural emotional exchange of human beings. '

“However, I'm not sure if it's correct to predict a future where AI robots will interact with current ethical standards. Maybe our sense of rejection may also one day become prejudice or discrimination. '

‍

‍

[AI Story] Humans vs. Artificial Intelligence (6) Now Humans with Artificial Intelligence

‍

‍

'As above, the current AI era was made possible by computing power, securing vast amounts of big data, and better algorithms. For the time being, AI technology will continue to evolve based on the synergy of these three key elements. In fact, new AI-based services that were previously only imaginable, such as AI interpreters, AI robots that interact with humans, AI facial recognition, and deepfakes, have become a reality. '

“Finally, I will finish this series by quoting chess champion Kasparov, who lost against Deep Blue. “Don't be afraid of artificial intelligence machines; cooperate with them. (Don't fear intelligent machines. Work with them.)” I think now is the time to prepare for a better future where AI coexists rather than having vague fears about AI. '

‍

[AI Story] Crucial Moments of Artificial Intelligence 1

‍

‍

“For a long time, humans wanted to create beings similar to themselves. You can see things like golems in ancient mythology, Homunculus the medieval alchemist, and androids in sci-fi movies. However, even today, when science and technology have advanced, it is nothing more than a long-standing dream that has not yet been completed. '

Alan Turing, known as the father of computer science in 1950, publishes a paper called 'Computing Machinery and Intelligence'. It was a paper that revolutionized the history of artificial intelligence, containing an analysis of the possibility of implementing thinking machines. From here, “Can machines think?” Along with the famous question, it presents the possibilities of intelligent machines. '

‍

‍

[AI Story] The decisive figures of artificial intelligence (2) Walter Fitz, the founder of deep learning

‍

‍

'In 1935, at age 12, Fitz finds a fateful book that will change his life in a library that has escaped local bullies. It was “Principia Mathematica (Principia Mathematica)” written by Bertrand Russell and Alfred Whitehead. He read all of this difficult book, which is hundreds of pages long, over several days. '

'This was the first study to mechanically model the human brain. The function of each neuron is very simple, but it was this paper that laid the foundation for a neural system that performs complex calculations by connecting them to each other. This later became the foundation that made modern computers with binary output possible. '

‍

‍

In search of the ideas that created artificial intelligence (1) The Golden Maid and Talos

‍

“This time, I'm going to look back at the history of AI from a slightly different perspective rather than from a rational, mathematical, scientific,... perspective up until now. For example, from a mythological, religious, philosophical, humanities... perspective. If you look at it, the concept of AI probably began a long time ago from the imagination of someone who wanted to create an existence similar to a human being. '

'Furthermore, the talos described in mythology were not simply mechanical devices. It was an intelligent robot that could think and act like a human. Greedy for eternal life, he was deceived by Medea and is described as a person with free will and emotion, shedding tears, etc. '

“In this way, artificial intelligence grew out of human imagination and began to materialize into myths and narratives. This is probably the prototype of artificial intelligence that will join us now as well as in the future. Also, because I had these thoughts, I was able to dream of the day when the “calculation machine” became a “thinking machine.”
