A Korean terrestrial broadcaster renews its LETR AI subtitle generation service

A Korean terrestrial broadcaster will keep using LETR AI (formerly LETR WORKS) to generate AI subtitles for its broadcast content in 2025. The renewed contract runs from May to December 2025.

The broadcaster has produced subtitles for its entertainment and non-entertainment programmes with LETR AI since July 2024. Speech is transcribed with recognition tuned to broadcast conversation, subtitles are generated automatically, and editors review them in the LETR AI editor. Since December 2024 the broadcaster has also used LETR AI for in-house translation.

The broadcast subtitle technology grew out of a three-year national R&D project on spoken-language speech recognition and automatic subtitle generation that Twigfarm led from 2022.
